Sound and Place: Minnesota is an outdoor performance and installation composed and directed by Hugh Livingston, who hails from California. Held this evening at Caponi Art Park in Eagan, Minnesota, the performance was led by Livingston and performed by Zeitgeist, a chamber ensemble from Lowertown Saint Paul. The event was “an exploration of space and sound, an attempt to amplify musical ideas by placing them in a unique context,” writes Livingston in the performance program.
Minstrels roaming nature, creating music, both subtle and dramatic, definitely made the event not only unique, but inspiring.
