#CommuterProblems

In what is quickly becoming a week of posts about my commute, I decided to work past 6:00 pm today to see if traffic was lighter for my ride home. I found wide open highways. So on day 304 of Photo 365, I present the positive side to #CommuterProblems:

1. You get to listen to audiobooks and podcasts, something you never have time for in your busy life.
2. You can work out all of your day’s mental anxieties and frustrations on the way home, banging on the steering wheel if need be.
3. You can talk to yourself and people sitting in the car next to you will think you’re talking on the phone.
4. You can talk to Siri and work on developing a stronger human-computer bond.
5. You can get to know the cleaning staff at your office building who are startled to see you when they walk into your office, seeking out the trash can.

Concourse by night

On day 105 of my Photo 365 project I posted a picture of the Saint Paul Union Depot concourse, brightly lit in all her splendor. Nearly 200 days later she was sleeping quietly in the dark shadows of night.

Into the Music

On day 299 of Photo 365 I got to hang out with Al Neff. Al is the host and producer of Into the Music, a classic rock documentary radio program, and part of Highway 61 Productions. FYI – The Kinks are on this weekend. Party on Wayne.

Twin Waves

Ray King, a Taiwanese-based artist, recently installed “Twin Waves” in the main entrance of the Saint Paul Union Depot. King, who exhibits his light sculptures internationally, is one of several artists that are now on display at Union Depot in Lowertown. Through a $1.25 million art grant program established by the Ramsey County Regional Railroad Authority, work is slowly being purchased to adorn the chambers and halls of the train depot. I particularly like this exhibit.

This is day 296 of Photo 365.

Installation

AZ Gallery, in the Northern Warehouse in downtown Saint Paul, was caught taking down an exhibit and preparing for the third annual Lowertown Art Show, which opens this weekend. Work by over 50 artists will be on display through November 24.

This is day 295 of Photo 365.
