Wet Paint

Today I stopped in Wet Paint, my favorite art supply store in Saint Paul. I was looking for an illustrated book a local artist had told me about, but I took the opportunity to roam past the racks of paint and breathe in the smell of art.

Drawing Circle

Lowertown Artists Gathering
Every third Sunday of the month, Ta-coumba Aiken and Lisa Mathieson host Drawing Circle at The Black Dog Coffee and Wine Bar in Lowertown Saint Paul. I have zero drawing talent, but the group is open and welcoming to anyone. I worked on photoshopping images, the gentleman next to me wrote poetry, and the rest of our community table drew. There were sparks of inspiration and good conversation with a side of coffee.

This is day 48 of Photo 365.

Train car

Saint Paul Amtrak Train Station
What can you find in Saint Paul while wandering on a Saturday afternoon? A really cool old train car, for starters. This is day 47 of Photo 365.

Joe

Eagan, MN
A co-worker on maternity leave came into the office today so we could meet her new son, Joe.

If this face is not love I don’t know what is. Happy Valentine’s Day!

This is day 45 of Photo 365.

Going home

Landing at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport
Flying home to Minnesota today meant arriving in a snowstorm, and everyone with a window seat was watching the white out conditions as we bumped-bumped-bumped into the Minneapolis Saint Paul International Airport.

This is day 41 of Photo 365.

Happy face

A few free hours this afternoon gave me time to explore San Diego’s Balboa Park. It is my new favorite city park (until I visit Central Park again). San Diego has done a spectacular job with the landscape.

This was one of those scenes that produced such joy. People were enjoying a lazy afternoon at the fountain, a dog jumped into the water and splashed around to everyone’s delight, and the sky smiled down on us all. Perfection, if not for a brief moment of day 40 of Photo 365.
