Minneapolis morn

I went to Minneapolis this morning, and took this while crossing the infamous 35W bridge that collapsed many years back. (That sentence just made my mother faint. Sorry mom.)

Penthouse view

One of my favorite views of Saint Paul can be found on the roof deck of our condo building. I decided to “shake” things up tonight to see how the lights would look blurred. Fun.

Irish session

While husband and I celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day with 100,000 people in Saint Paul yesterday, we couldn’t let the holy feast day pass without some Irish music. We are both Irish after all!

One of our favorite Irish bands was close by, so we celebrated day 76 of Photo 365 with our local O’Malley’s and Micks.

Saint Patrick’s Day

Saint Paul draws approximately 100,000 people to the downtown area for its annual Saint Patrick’s Day parade and street party. Since March 17 is on a Sunday this year, the city threw the party a day early. Happy Saint Patrick’s weekend!

Soft sunrise

The days are getting warmer and it has a hint of spring in the air. This morning’s sunrise felt like spring as well.

Lowertown majesty

Those that know me or follow this blog are aware of the love affair I’ve had since 1999 with my neighborhood, the Lowertown district of downtown Saint Paul, Minnesota. Tonight I was once again struck by the architecture and beautiful cornices that grace the warehouses of the place I call home.

Twin Cities Public Television put together a terrific documentary on the urban village of Lowertown that I recommend for any history buff.
