West St. Paul

Minnesota played a cruel joke on its residents today and snowed on us. It was too warm to stick but it made for conversation.

So, I decided that it was spring. Water is water. And I threw a Kansas tornado spring sky filter into the mix, just because. Go Shockers.

Endicott Building

The Endicott and Pioneer Press Building was built by Cass Gilbert in 1889. So it’s no wonder she needs a little work. I always love seeing restoration being done on these old beauties.

Death metal

In our quaint little Lowertown neighborhood there is one saloon that sticks out a bit more than most. Station 4 is the resident heavy metal bar that typically has lines wrapped around the block and big tour buses parked on the narrow streets. It’s not unusual for well known hard rockin’ bands to make a stop at this tiny place that only holds a couple hundred at maximum.

This mural painted on the outside of the establishment is both intriguing and horrifying, and the subject of day 93 for project Photo 365.

Abstract from the State of Hockey

It’s a great night for a hockey fight! The Minnesota Wild took on the Saint Louis Blues, and the beginning of the game made this hockey fan shake the camera in frustration. Bad call ref.

Easter Sunday glow

Sickness hit our house this weekend, so time outside was limited. When everything was cleaned and sanitized, and husband was on his second nap, I took a load off to enjoy the sun coming in through the living room windows.

Meritage Saint Paul

The sun felt so good today during a walk by Meritage – a fantastic French restaurant in downtown Saint Paul. Spring is just around the corner – I can feel it.
