A business conference has me in Las Vegas for a few days, so after networking events yesterday I hit the Strip. I have a similar photo of the real Eiffel Tower on my desk at home that was taken back in 2005. I must love this angle because I couldn’t help but take it again. Viva Las Vegas.

Today the Minnesota Senate passed a gay marriage bill, making Minnesota the 12th state to do so. Tomorrow Governor Mark Dayton will sign the bill into law.
In celebration of the bill most assumed would pass, Saint Paul Mayor Chris Coleman had these flags placed on the Wabasha Street Bridge today and declared the bridge the “Freedom to Marry Bridge” for the week.
The Twitterverse lit up this afternoon in celebration of the passage. One tweet that made me pause was a statement that went something along the lines of, “Proud of my state. Proud my daughter will never know marrying someone you love was once illegal.”

Today as I was letting my paint dry at the nail salon, I noticed a salon worker enter the building and bend down to place something on the floor. I leaned back to get a better view and saw this altar to Buddha tucked in the corner at the front entrance. Interesting. I now need to research the symbolism of each piece.

Husband saw this angle at The Lowry in downtown Saint Paul yesterday, so I can’t take full credit. But I had to run back and see what I could do with it. If I had a woman in a red dress on the landing, it would be perfect.

Tonight’s local hockey contest is a mash-up between the Minnesota Wild and the Chicago Blackhawks. I do wonder if these two guys will still be friends after the game.
