The black dog

The art inside Black Dog Coffee and Wine Bar in Lowertown changes frequently, and this spring a new visitor has arrived. A third mascot, a third puppet and a third art piece, the five foot tall pooch is freakish yet cute.

Body of work

Today I met Drew Jonell, who is a senior in high school, and an up-and-coming photographer. Drew has been working on a Photo 365 Project since May 15, 2012. The subject of his work is – Drew – himself. And he’s taken his photos from his project and placed them on a mannequin, which I thought was pretty unique. Brilliant, in fact. So Drew’s Project 365 body of work is my day 118 of Photo 365.

The windows in husband’s studio face a back alley that has a bird’s eye view of another artist cooperative next door. I spy people looking at art!

Saint Paul Art Crawl

Today is the start of the weekend Saint Paul Art Crawl that runs through Sunday in Lowertown Saint Paul. My husband, Tom Dunn, has a photography studio in the Northern Warehouse Building where he does his commercial shoots and exhibits art photography. As you have noticed from this blog, I love funky photos. This is Tom’s funkiest photo in rotation this spring (in my opinion). And I, of course, had to funk it up a bit more for fun. 🙂 I’m very proud of him and am looking forward to an art-filled weekend!

April snow showers

The individuals who discovered vitamin D was good for lifting up one’s mood must have been from a place where it snows in April.
