When God closes a door, he opens a window

I sat by this open window at church this morning because a nice breeze was coming through. I have seen this scene of forgiveness on many church windows over the years, but today was the first time my initial thought was, ‘Hello, high five Jesus.’ (sigh) All childhood innocence is officially gone.

Peeking back in time

If you strain your eyes to look through a door crack at the Saint Paul Union Depot, you can see an original ticket counter from 1923 standing in its dusty glory.

Curtain call

Tonight was the season opener of Talking Volumes, a literary showcase of author lectures, hosted by Minnesota Public Radio. As the chimes rang, singling that the event was about to begin, people rushed inside the Fitzgerald Theater, not wanting to miss a moment.

1st Bank Building

Which photo do you like more on day 266 of Photo 365? I used the same filters, but different perspectives of the 1st Bank Building in downtown Saint Paul. Curious to hear what angle is more striking to your eye.

The Kansas side

20130922-191450.jpg

When I landed in Kansas City on Friday, the ground crew said , “Welcome to Kansas City, Missouri, not Kansas.” That’s the mentality on the border, so I’m used to it. I posted a sunset scene from Missouri that evening. So, on day 265 of Photo 365 I present sunrise on the Kansas side – equally as beautiful.

Rolling cigars

While strolling through the streets of the Kansas City Country Club Plaza this afternoon during the Plaza Art Fair, I happened upon a gentleman hand rolling cigars outside of Diebel’s Sportmans Gallery, a tobacco institution on the Plaza.
